NPM-GW
The Panasonic NPM-GW is the flagship modular placement machine of the G-Series, designed for maximum productivity and flexibility in autonomous SMT lines. It is ideal for manufacturers with high demands on production capacity and the handling of large printed circuit boards. Thanks to its support for large PCBs, revolutionary Auto Setting Feeders (ASF), intelligent APC-5M control and advanced AI for process optimisation, it offers top-class speed, minimal downtime and high production efficiency.
Intended for: medium to large electronics manufacturers (both EMS and OEM) who require maximum flexibility, high capacity and are moving towards fully autonomous production.

Key specifications:
- 52,000 cph per placement head (components placed per hour)
- Up to 136 feeders
- Accuracy of ± 25 µm/chip as standard
- FC16 head, FC08 head, FC03 head (the number indicates the number of nozzles on the placement head)
- Single lane, Dual lane
Key benefits:
- Auto Setting Feeder – no need for splicing tape
- High accuracy mode with an accuracy of ± 15 µm/chip
- Zero error tolerance and protection against component mix-ups via a pre-inspection camera positioned directly above the feeder
- APC-5M (Adaptive Process Control) is an intelligent control system and software from Panasonic, which acts as the ‘brain’ for the autonomous control of the entire SMT line
- Capable of assembling boards ranging from 50×50 mm to 760×687 mm
FAQ
Does the placement head require complex maintenance?
- The design utilises linear head mechanisms instead of rotary systems. This significantly reduces mechanical wear and ensures very low maintenance requirements
How does component recognition work?
- An advanced 3-in-1 system is used, which integrates image recognition, height measurement and component coplanarity checks in a single step.
Can accessories from older generations of Panasonic machines be used on the NPM-GW machine?
- Yes, the NPM-GW platform has been designed with backwards compatibility in mind. It allows existing placement nozzles and feeders from earlier NPM series to be used without any issues
